Prague, a city that survived both world wars without being destroyed, had its entire historic district registered as a World Heritage Site in 1992. The many buildings created under 400 years of Habsburg rule employ every architectural style from Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque to Art Nouveau, earning it the name "museum of architecture."
